Part A

   Inpatient Hospital Stays

   Deductible: $1,600 (per benefit period)

   Durable Medical Equipment (DME)

   Diagnostic Services (Labs, X-rays, MRI, etc)

Premium: $164.90, may be higher for
some individuals (potential IRMAA)
Deductible: $226 / Co-insurance 20%

Medicare Supplement

   Covers Medicare’s deductibles and coinsurance

   Access to all Doctors that accept Medicare, Nationwide

   Guaranteed renewable

   Monthly premium based on your age

   May include gym membership

   Prescription Drug (Part D) coverage purchased separately

OPTION 2

Medicare Advantage

Medicare A + B Benefits are provided by private insurance companies

Generally, Low monthly premiums. (many plans have no premium)

   Predictable copays for covered services

PPO/HMO Doctor Networks may apply
Worldwide coverage for urgent and
emergency care

   Generally includes prescription coverage (Part D)

   Many plans include Dental/Vision/Hearing/GymMembership

If you are new to Medicare or turning
65, its extremely important to know
who can enroll and when to enroll in Medicare.

Medicare Initial Enrollment Period (IEP)

You can first sign up for Part A and/or Part B during the
7 month time period
that begins 3 months before you turn 65 and ends 3 months after.

Special Enrollment Period (SEP)

If you are still working and elected not to take Medicare, you may qualify for a Special Enrolment Period (SEP) to enroll in Medicare at anytime- Penalty free.

Parts A + B

Generally, people are entitled to Part A at no cost as long as you or your spouse has worked 40 quarters.

Part B has a base premium of 174.70/month. The cost could be higher based on your household income. To determine your Part B costs, see chart below:
